GROWING CARNIVOROUS PLANTS IN ALASKA WITH SHAWN JACKINSKY
$30 per person, $25 per Pratt Museum Member // Saturday, August 17, 1-3pm
Did you know there are four different species of carnivorous plants that are native to Alaska? Three of them can be found in the Pratt Museum Botanical Garden. Come and learn from our Botanical Garden crew about their unique lifeways, and how to propagate them at home. Sundews even thrive as houseplants, and can keep you company through the long Alaskan winter! We will explore seed collection and saving, propagation by leaf cutting, and habitat requirements.
This workshop is outdoors and designed for adults, older teens are welcome too! Please come prepared for any weather and remember to print the waiver/release form and bring a completed copy to the workshop (we will have additional copies available on the day of the event).
Online registration is required for this event.
