Few places in the world experience the tidal extremes that occur in the waters of Kachemak Bay. Twenty-two foot high tides are contrasted with minus-five foot low tidal exchanges. Whether clamming at low tide, boating safely home at high tide, or repairing a boat hull on the harbor’s dry dock, local community members need to have knowledge of the tides.
